Well I had about zero clue OliveYoung had a global website until like last month and I recently decided to purchase off of it as I was looking to restock my sheet masks I was almost out of. Unfortunately I ended up buying one of the wrong boxes, but it’s fine, because the price was so cheap.
I placed my order on January 6th and my package shipped… January 6th. That’s right. I placed my order during the day at like 5 o’clock or something and it was shipped that night at around 10:30 p.m. or so. My order arrived January 15th with free DHL shipping.
OliveYoung used to be one of my favorite stores to shop at in the past. It has a large collection of items, and is similar to Sephora or Ulta and it was an easy place to shop for all my needs in one spot. That was, of course, when I was living out of the country and there were physical store locations on every corner where I lived.
I’m not quite sure when OliveYoung Global opened, however I was following some Korean beauty brands on Instagram and they popped up as a recommended page to follow.
I originally wasn’t going to buy anything from them because the pricing really varies on the website. Some things are cheaper to buy on OliveYoung Global while other items were far pricier compared to other websites. But, the thing that appealed to me about OliveYoung was not only the large variety of brands, but also the fact that a lot of special sets can be sold on OliveYoung.

OliveYoung Global was having a sale on my Mediheal sheet masks, which was originally the reason why I went on to purchase from them. Sets of 10 were selling for $11 USD to $15 USD, which is pretty cheap for these masks, so I wanted to stock up since I recently just ran out. I accidentally ended up buying the Vita Lightbeam mask instead of the Platinum V-Life masks though, so big RIP on my part.
Regardless though, everything else was also on sale, and they were all products I’d been eyeing for a while but just never bothered to bite the bullet on. I’ve also wanted to try more eSpoir makeup, and while I know they have an English site, their website collection is rather small, and if I recall correctly, they didn’t have any of the special sets like they do on OliveYoung Global, so I just ended up purchasing from OliveYoung.
The website for OliveYoung Global, first off, is very nice. It’s easy to navigate and it has a relatively clean design on top of that. Although the products pages doesn’t have any quick view, quick add to cart or quick favorites button, I can live with that, because on the pages of products you can multi-select which products you want to buy, a feature I have become particularly attached to recently.
The payment page is a little wonky in my opinion since they used some form of secure payment page that I’m not familiar with, but it’s otherwise relatively simple. I don’t believe I had to get a verification text sent to my credit card, but I can’t remember 100%. I didn’t have any issues when checking out my products or any issues with my credit card.
Furthermore, there’s free DHL shipping over $60. For me, I personally like to buy everything I need in one big bulk purchase and just be done with it. I don’t like buying a small amount of product because I feel like it’s a waste of shipping and furthermore time, especially now during COVID. Therefore, free shipping over $60 is a huge bonus in my opinion. That’s probably my favorite part.
My next favorite thing about OliveYoung Global is definitely the easy availability of special sets. I got special sets for nearly everything I purchased which came with free brushes and such. They were all the same price as the regular item without any bonuses, so why not buy the special set? Or at least, that’s my mindset!
Obviously the speed at which my items shipped was also quite surprising to me. I didn’t expect everything to ship as fast as it did. That being said, I guess it isn’t too surprising, since OliveYoung was originally a makeup retailer to begin with, so they probably have dedicated warehouses for their items compared to some of the other websites which may take a while longer because they’re shipping from warehouses to their facility to ship out to customers.
Some of the products I saw on the OliveYoung Global website were more expensive (even on sale) compared to the pricing at some other websites like YesStyle or whatever, but that’s going to be every website you look on. So long as the pricing isn’t too terribly different, I’ll just buy it even if it’s a little more expensive. I’m lazy. And honestly, I don’t have the time to constantly search out the cheapest deal from a million different websites.
Since my order was so smooth and I didn’t have any issues, I can’t really speak about their customer service. However, the website doesn’t have everything completely translated into English, as when I entered in an incorrect coupon code, I got an error message that appeared entirely in Korean. I don’t know if they outsource their customer service or anything, but I have read some comments about how the customer service wasn’t fantastic or helpful when they had issues, so that’s something to consider as well.
Regardless, I personally had a rather lovely experience with OliveYoung Global, so I’m really excited to continue purchasing from them!
